Jakarta, Pesantren API. The Religious Affairs Ministry will hold an itsbat (confirmation) meeting on Monday evening to select the date of the Islamic Day of Sacrifice, or Idul Adha, an official said.
Ministry spokesman Zainudin Daulay said on Monday that the meeting would be attended by the ministrys high-ranking officials, representatives from all Islamic organizations, as well as ambassadors of Muslim countries in Jakarta.

The meeting may start around 4:00 pm in the auditorium of the ministrys Thamrin office, Zainudin told The Jakarta Post Digital, referring to the ministrys office building on Jl. MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta.Among the invitees are representatives of Muhammadiyahthe second largest Islamic organization after Nahdhatul Ulamaeven though it has decided that Idul Adha will fall on Oct. 26, as the group uses calendar calculations to fix the Islamic holy days the Idul Adha and Idul Fitri holidays.

We have not received confirmation whether or not the representatives of Muhammadiyah will attend the meeting, but we have invited them like we always have, he said.The result will be announced after the meeting.
